Obama’s 3:00 AM Phone Call

Posted by The Red Pill on April 17, 2008

Barack Obama has shown the way would react to the “3:00 AM Phone Call.” He would get scared and hang up the telephone!

Obama was forced to address some tough questions last night and pretty much lost his shirt, by most accounts. He did nothing to address his Bittergate problem except to reiterate that people turn to religion because they are upset with Washington. He was annihilated while discussing Jeremiah Wright, to the point that he was fumbling words. And he displayed some of his foreign policy arrogance by openly suggesting that nations like Iran would be pacified by his “carrots and sticks.”

Jab after jab, Obama was like a desperate fighter with his back to the ropes. By the end of the night—he was beaten up. And he knows it.

How did the man who would be President respond to his thrashing?

He ran away like a coward.

Obama: Let’s campaign, not have more debates
.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sen. Barack Obama suggested Thursday that he doesn’t see any point in having another debate with Democratic rival Sen. Hillary Clinton.
.
Clinton has agreed to a debate next week, but Obama has not accepted the invitation.
.
At an appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina, Obama said he has a lot of campaigning to do in a limited amount of time.
.
Obama said he had agreed to an earlier debate, but Clinton declined that one.
.
“I’ll be honest with you, we’ve now had 21,” he said. “It’s not as if we don’t know how to do these things. I could deliver Sen. Clinton’s lines; she could, I’m sure, deliver mine.”
.
Obama said he has to look at his schedule, considering the upcoming primaries.

This shows the true character of Barack Obama better than all of his other controversies combined. It shows how he reacts when he gets an unexpected beating. It shows his fear and weakness. And it shows why he has no business leading the most powerful nation on earth.

I just think there isn’t much to be said between them that hasn’t already been said, that’s all. I think we’ve learned about their policy differences by now, since they’ve had 21 of these things. And I suppose he figures that if all the moderators are going to focus on are flag pins and Wright, then there isn’t much to be gained.

BTW- I don’t suppose you called McCain a coward when he refused to debate Huckabee, did you?

  2. I am not familiar with the reasons behind McCain’s decision not to debate, so I cannot comment on that. Frankly, I’m not really a big fan of John McCain’s presidential politics.

But for Obama to turn tail and run the day after a bad debate says volumes. This “we’ve had 21, we don’t need anymore” BS is a copout. It has nothing to do with the amount and everything to do with him being forced to answer the really tough questions correctly the first time. And in that, he has shown to be a miserable failure.

He talks real pretty when everything is planned, or if he isn’t thrown any curves. However, now we have seen what he’s made of when the road gets bumpy. A couple weeks ago he ran away from a reporter who was pressing him, and now he doesn’t want to debate anymore after being pressed.

Obama was not on top of his game Wednesday night but I think you greatly exaggerate. The problem with both Bittergate and Reverend Wright is that we beat these issues to death. Obama has answered both issues clearly. What more does he need to say?

As for his reluctance to engage in further debates, rather than blaming his busy campaign schedule, I wish he would just lay down the law and say, “The only way I am going to participate in another debate is if the moderators commit to make the debate about the issues and not a gossip fest.”

Of course, the other problem here is that the two candidates are nearly identical on issues of importance. So, the race really does come down to which personality do you want in the Oval Office? I’d take someone whose main fault is a tendency to be overly intellectual any day over a manipulative liar.

  4. “The only way I am going to participate in another debate is if the moderators commit to make the debate about the issues and not a gossip fest.”

Which translates to “I will only answer prepared questions or questions that I have prepared an answer for.”

“So, the race really does come down to which personality do you want in the Oval Office?”

Which is exactly the point of those debate questions—Obama’s and Clinton’s personality. Wright, Rezko, lying. It all goes back to their personality and their judgement.

And the only people they aren’t issues to are their supporters. To the rest of us bitter, cynical, mean Americans, these things matter. They are issues.

That wasn’t a debate. Clearly biased moderators. They aren’t journalists.
Stephanopoulos worked for the Clinton administration for God-sakes!

I couldn’t care a less about Rev. Wright…. seriously think about it. So the guy isn’t happy with the United States? How does that reflect on Obama? If a Catholic was running would you call him a pedophile because his priest may have been?

And is wearing a pin on your lapel a real issue? Does that make you patriotic? I guess as much as putting a yellow ribbon on your gas guzzling Hummer.

I don’t wear a flag pin. And I think those magnets are trivial and cheap way to show your support for the troops. Send a care package, a cellphone, or just a letter.

But I guess that makes me a America-hating libby.

No wonder the country isn’t doing so well.. I guess if we ignore our problems they’ll go away.

  6. Who were the moderators biased towards? It sure wasn’t Hillary. They hammered her just as much as Obama.

McCain wouldn’t even hear the phone ring at 3am and nor would his wife, because she would strung out on pain pills. See?

Did everyone see Joe Scarborough (right winger) storm off MSNBC last night when the liberal lesbian Rachel Maddow pointed out things that ole Joey didn’t want to hear about John McCain? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, Joey only want softball questions and comments? Apparently.

  9. “Obama was forced to address some tough questions last night”

Apparently tough questions is the new word for irrelevant and stupid questions.

“Obama was like a desperate fighter with his back to the ropes.”

Hillary is the one on the ropes not Obama and his critics are graping at straws now. People are protesting in front of ABC headquarters for God’s sake over the debate questions. The people are waking up and are not being fooled since Obama is GAINING in PA on Hillary despite these lame “controversies”.

The debates ( I use the term loosely) have become just convenient forums to generate sound bites for lazy voters. I have had enough of them myself.

This has to be the one the worst commentaries I have read on the debate yet.

  10. Hillary may be on the ropes in the campaign, but that isn’t what this piece was about. And to be honest, it wasn’t really about the debate, either. It was about his reaction afterward.

If he doesn’t want to debate anymore because he thinks the questions were “irrelevent and stupid,” then let him man-up and say so. Why try and play off this “I have a busy schedule” balony, as if anyone is actually swallowing it? That would show at least a hint of character.
